Ich hab eben mal nachgelesen, was ich zu einem englischsprachigen Workshop mitbringen soll.
Da steht:
Attendees will need to bring 2 x 15cm squares of stocking stitch knitted in a double knitted yarn
Ich versteh das doch richtig, dass ich 2 Patches glatt rechts gestrickt mit doppelt verstricktem Garn mitbringen soll?
Mir ist nämlich nicht ganz klar, warm das doppelt genommen werden muß.........*überleg*
Kann jemand mal drüberlesen - vielleicht lieg ich ja falsch....

Sharon Brant
Sharon Brant is Rowan’s Retail and Brand development Manager. A passionate knitter since she was a child, and has run her own knitwear business for over 19 years.

She is the Author of Professional finishing techniques, Ultimate knitter’s Bible (Release date Sept’09), knitting goes large (Sept ’08) co author of “Classic Knits for Real Women”, as well as being the technical support for Rowan’s Crochet workshop book, Kate Buller’s Knitter’s Bible and Style your own kid’s knits. Sharon has worked as pattern writer and technical support for Kaffe Fassatt and Brandon Mably.
Sharon has also been involved in knitting for blockbusters such as Harry Potter, Phantom of the opera, Attonement, Elizabeth and Batman to name but a few.
Sharon’s workshops range from colour techniques, professional finishing and Designing knitwear to suit you.

Finishing techniques by Sharon Brant (2 hour class)
(Using techniques from Sharon’s new publication, The Ultimate knitter’s bible.)
In this workshop Sharon Brant will use her recently published book to help you through a whole series of tips and techniques that will give your knitting that professional finish. The class is aimed to show the techniques of mattress stitch, picking up stitches, short row shaping and many other tips on how to give your garment that professional finish.
The following techniques will be covered:

The importance of tension and how to correct it

Mattress Stitch

Picking up stitches
*
Short row shaping
*
Plus many more tips that will make people ask “where did you get your sweater?” rather than “did you make that yourself?”

Steht da wirklich "double knitted yarn"? Sinn könnte es ergeben, wenn "double knit yarn" gemeint ist - "double knit" beschreibt eine Fadenstärke, die zum herumprobieren meiner Meinung nach prima geeignet ist. Die angegebene Nadelstärke würde glaube ich dazu passen.
Gibt es für das Treffen deutschsprachige Ansprechpartner? Das wäre einen Versuch wert...
